Five bold predictions for Week 16 of the NFL season.
Welcome to Glass Slipper! All I want to do is watch Coen Carr jump; please enjoy the show.

**NOTICE: Glass Slipper will arrive on Sunday and Monday this week.
Every Sunday morning, I will make five bold predictions regarding the upcoming NFL games. Each time I get one incorrect, $10 is added to the money pot. At the end of the 18-week regular season, that pool of cash will be spent on gifts for random Glass Slipper subscribers. I hope you have a lot of fun rooting against me! Let’s go.
Prediction 1: Myles Garrett records exactly one sack, tying the NFL single-season record.
Garrett’s legacy-defining accomplishment can’t happen while his team is getting tagged by a random opponent. No, no, no. He needs to get to 22.5 this afternoon, and save the big moment for next Sunday. A home clash with the one franchise that genuinely despises him. Pittsburgh.
I think Myles pulls even with Michael Strahan and TJ Watt early. The Bills might have the game in hand midway through the third; I expect them to start sending triples in his direction, so Dion Dawkins doesn’t end up on a timeless highlight.
Prediction 2: De’Von Achane scores 2+ total touchdowns against the Bengals.
This is what I wrote about Achane, back on October 14th.
The one dude I feel bad for is De’Von Achane, who consistently shows up ready to battle. He’s from the Houston area, and the Texans desperately need a running back; that deal should’ve been done a month ago.
Sadly, that hypothetical transaction with the Texans never materialized. Our friend De’Von is currently tasked with trying to guide Quinn Ewers to a competent first start. These are some awfully bleak times in Miami.
We can only hope that Achane finds greener grass in March; for now, I need the guy to help bump Cincinnati up the draft order.
Prediction 3: Carolina defeats Tampa Bay.
I’m so happy for Bryce Young. A 73.7 passer rating as a rookie. 82.2 a year ago. 88.4 this season. While his numbers still don’t necessarily sparkle, the performances feel infinitely more stable. With only one starting-level NFL receiver at his disposal, Bryce is regaining the signature decisiveness that made us fall in love with him as a prospect.
This is arguably the most important football game that Young has encountered since falling to LSU in 2022. I think my sweet prince leads the Panthers to a crucial road victory today.
Prediction 4: The Jaguars finish with 17 points or fewer.
Jacksonville has tallied 231 total points since its bye in Week 8. 231! For reference, that’s more than the Raiders, Titans, Browns, and Saints have scored the entire campaign. 10 total touchdowns and zero turnovers for Trevor Lawrence, in his last three contests. Liam Coen has become the bane of my existence, but he deserves credit for this run of dominance.
These Jags could use a slice of humble pie; a date with Denver’s defense feels like the perfect recipe. Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper exploit Jacksonville’s pedestrian tackles, and dump a gallon of water on the league’s hottest attack.
Prediction 5: 275+ total yards for Lamar Jackson on Sunday Night Football.
Lamar hasn’t reached this benchmark since September. After a full season of near-flawless showings, just about everything has been a tick off for him in 2025. He’s certainly earned enough leeway - in my eyes, at least - to endure a substandard year without facing a mountain of criticism. It’s honestly a bit jarring to see him look mortal, though.
The future of Baltimore’s franchise might hinge on this three-game stretch. New England this evening, then road clashes with Green Bay and Pittsburgh. If it’s 1-2 and no playoff berth, does Zach Orr survive? What about John Harbaugh? Would a full-scale retool around Jackson be on the horizon? A whole lot of possibilities hang in the balance at the moment.
There’s something comforting and nostalgic about watching these two franchises go to war in primetime. I think No. 8 returns to his MVP form, and provides us with some A+ entertainment on NBC.
