A recap of Week 10 of the NFL season.
Welcome to Glass Slipper! Poor, poor Younghoe Koo; please enjoy the show.
- Jacob Rhee
Here are my 10 biggest takeaways from Week 10 of the NFL season.
The Baltimore Reapers.
My Bengals ended Baltimore’s 2022 campaign in the wild card round, and the John Harbaugh’s crew has responded by destroying my beloved franchise. The Ravens are 4-0 against Cincinnati since that playoff game, they cut Joe Burrow’s season short a year ago, and Lamar Jackson just broke my little heart twice in a 36-day span.
Jared Goff threw 5 interceptions and the Lions won.
Joe Burrow threw 4 touchdowns and 428 yards and Bengals lost.

We get it, guys. You got your revenge. Feel free to leave us alone now.
Bryce is back.
Everyone else on this planet could jump off the Bryce Young train, and I’ll still be right there with the conductor hat on. I refuse to quit on a kid that’s this committed, talented, and likable.
The numbers won’t ever be gaudy with such a putrid supporting cast, but Young was awesome in Munich on Sunday. I hope this guy shuts people up each week, for the rest of time.
Caleb’s chemistry.
There is one team in the NFL that has two 2023 Pro Bowl wide receivers on the roster. It’s the Bears, but Caleb Williams’ rhythm with both Keenan Allen and DJ Moore is clearly missing. The awful offensive line and catastrophic coordinator situation aren’t helping, but Justin Fields wasn’t allowed to use those as excuses.
Remember when Caleb Williams wanted an ownership stake for whatever team drafted him?

It’s on Williams to figure this thing out.
The Brian Flores show.
His head coaching career was bizarre, but this man can really pull the strings on defense. I’m not going to laud Brian for shutting down Mac Jones; 11 versions of me could run out there and do that. This Vikings unit has been fantastic all season, though. Flores would be my pick for Assistant Coach of the Year at the moment.
New club members?
10 different players have had 2,000 scrimmage yards in a season in the last decade. Both starting running backs from that Saints-Falcons game have a shot to reach the benchmark. Alvin Kamara - in spite of that inexplicable drop - is roaring back to relevancy after three straight campaigns of looking borderline washed. Bijan Robinson just makes this sport look so easy.
Broad daylight.
Kyle Shanahan is a football genius, but he can’t solve San Francisco’s alarming issues in the red zone. I have an idea! Kyle! I’m raising my hand as high as I can! Kyle! Ooh, pick me, pick me! You know that guy on your team named Deebo? The man that no one in this league can tackle? Why don’t you - and I know this sounds crazy - try handing the ball off to him down there?
Maybe next year.
I’ve mentally eliminated 10 squads from playoff contention, and the Jets are one of them.
The Jets have gotten worse since this moment.

Aaron Rodgers is broken, Davante Adams is absent, and Sauce Gardner is a whiny baby. I don’t care how manageable the rest of that schedule is. This team sucks.
Stop sleeping on Jalen Hurts.
This is 2022 Jalen through nine games, compared to 2024 Jalen.
2022 Hurts | VS. | 2024 Hurts |
---|---|---|
8-1 | Record | 7-2 |
67.9 | Completion % | 69.8 |
2,571 | Total Yards | 2,354 |
21 | Total Touchdowns | 22 |
3 | Interceptions | 5 |
8.4 | Yards per Pass Attempt | 8.4 |
106.4 | Rating | 103.4 |
Not too different, right? 2022 Jalen finished as the runner-up in the MVP race, and was being hyped to the moon. The turnovers are up a touch this year, but I’m not sure why 2024 Jalen isn’t getting at least somewhat similar treatment.
Playing quarterback is still difficult.
Sometimes we need a week like that to remind ourselves of this fact. Seven of the 24 quarterbacks that started on Sunday threw multiple picks, including that five-spot from Jared Goff. In other words, we should appreciate what Jayden Daniels is doing as a rookie right now.
Time to peek ahead.
Speaking of Hurts and Daniels, they’ll clash for the first time on Thursday evening. Two days later, we get both Ravens-Steelers and Chiefs-Bills. It’s an incredible slate of games.

If that’s the biggest burden I have to bear in my life, I’ll be a pretty lucky guy.
