My Week 11 college football predictions.

Welcome to Glass Slipper! Cam Reddish’s high school highlights might earn him NBA minutes for the rest of time; please enjoy the show.

- Jacob Rhee

Each Saturday morning of the college football regular season, I will be predicting the outcome of the six best games of the weekend. Every time I pick the wrong team to win, it costs me $15. At the end of the year, I will use the total pot of money to buy gifts for random Glass Slipper subscribers. That’s right; you literally benefit from my failures. Let’s go.

Game 1: No. 3 Georgia vs No. 16 Ole Miss

The pick: Georgia wins, 34-21.

I labeled Ole Miss as the Penn State of the SEC before the season; a really solid program that can’t quite reach the top floor of its conference. Frustrated Rebels fans will be flooding the message boards in eight hours with similar sentiments.

A lot of Florida supporters are zeroed in on Lane Kiffin as their next head coach. Those rumors are going to run rampant when the 49-year-old walks off the field with a third loss today.

Game 2: Michigan vs No. 8 Indiana

The pick: Michigan wins, 27-20.

It’s odd. I have consistently praised the Hoosiers, yet this is the second straight week that I’m taking an unranked opponent to beat them. These aren’t intentional mixed messages, IU fans. Perhaps my snobbiness as an Ohio State guy just instinctively prevents me from fully buying into a team with such an unspectacular collection of talent.

I like how the Wolverines match up in the trenches, and I can see Kurtis Rourke struggling against a Michigan defense that I still believe is really tough. The Hoosiers fall, leaving Oregon as the last undefeated Big Ten squad.

Game 3: No. 11 Alabama vs No. 15 LSU

The pick: Alabama wins, 30-24.

The winner of this one is going to the playoff. The loser isn’t. Simple as that. Enjoy it.

Game 4: Oklahoma vs No. 24 Missouri

The pick: Oklahoma wins, 26-21.

A couple of things will swing for the Sooners depending on what unfolds tonight. If Jackson Arnold plays well and picks up a victory, I think most OU people will start warming up to the idea of him being the guy in 2025; he’s looked significantly better since regaining his QB1 status. We’re right back to panic mode if he struggles, though.

Brent Venables’ job security is also in the balance here. Let’s say Missouri - without Brady Cook - gets it done. The Sooners are likely finishing 5-7, and would miss a bowl game for the first time in 26 years. Such a scenario would absolutely cause Venables to squirm in his chair.

Game 5: Washington vs No. 6 Penn State

The pick: Penn State wins, 28-10.

To me, one of the most accurate measures of a college sports coach is what your team looks like right after a painful loss. These are young, emotional kids. Are they still in a funk the next time out, or do they look hungry to never let it happen again?

I happen to believe that James Franklin is a fantastic leader. The fans that want him fired are getting a touch greedy. The Nittany Lions went 89-48 in the 11 years prior to Franklin’s arrival, and they’re 95-40 during his tenure. You’ll be hosting a CFP game in six weeks. Chill out.

Game 6: No. 9 BYU vs Utah

The pick: Utah wins, 18-13.

No school in America - outside of Florida State, I suppose - has had a more nightmarish campaign than the Utes. Meanwhile, their bitter rival across town is enjoying a dream season. You know what that means. We have a Kyle Whittingham special on our hands.

This man is notorious for stealing games that he has no business winning. I can’t remember the last time I felt this good about a four-loss squad beating a top-10 opponent. BYU has its dreams of perfection shattered, and a party ensues in Salt Lake City.

  • Week 10 Results: 4-2

  • Overall Season Picks Record: 46-14

  • Current CFB Prize Pot: $210
