Five bold predictions for Week 18 of the NFL season.

Welcome to Glass Slipper! Don’t call Jimmy Butler a legendary competitor ever again; please enjoy the show.

**NOTICE: Glass Slipper will arrive on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week.

Every Sunday morning, I will make five bold predictions regarding the upcoming NFL games. Each time I get one incorrect, $10 is added to the money pot. At the end of the 18-week regular season, that pool of cash will be spent on gifts for random Glass Slipper subscribers. I hope you have a lot of fun rooting against me! Let’s go.

Prediction 1: New England defeats Buffalo.

Even though it may bump their team down the draft order a couple spots, I don’t think Patriots fans would fully object to a victory here. There was a stretch from 2000 to 2019, where the boys from Boston won 35 of 39 against the Bills. The Josh Allen sorcery has totally reversed that trend.

Jerod Mayo contributed to New England’s run of dominance as a player, and there’s no doubt that he’s hungry to grab one today. We’ll see a joyous scene in Foxborough for the first time in a while.

Prediction 2: Will Levis and Mason Rudolph each finish with under 125 passing yards.

I adore Brian Callahan for everything that he did in Cincinnati, but that man isn’t fooling anyone. He said this week that he would play both quarterbacks, because each had earned an opportunity. Kindly stop it, sir. That’s not the reason. The real intent is to roll with whichever guy gives Tennessee the worst chance of competing. If one dude is humming, Callahan can now tell them to take a seat and pretend that it was the plan all along. Our friend Brian wants to protect that top-two pick, and he should; Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward possess the potential to get him off the hot seat.

Fortunately for Titans supporters, Rudolph and Levis are awful at the sport. Neither should move the ball this afternoon.

Prediction 3: The Raiders beat the Chargers.

Remember when Las Vegas randomly dropped a 63-point bomb on Los Angeles towards the end of last season? It was a clear indication that the roster believed in then-interim head coach Antonio Pierce, and that performance ultimately helped him land the full-time gig.

Now Pierce is burdened with some serious job insecurity, and his roster is stepping up to fight for him again. After ten consecutive losses, the Raiders are looking to close out with three straight victories. I think they get it done.

Prediction 4: Davante Adams catches Aaron Rodgers’ 500th career touchdown pass.

Do you know what Davante’s 17-game pace is for this year? 103 catches, for 1,275 yards and nine TDs. It’s literally a borderline All-Pro campaign. Because we think of him and Rodgers as a package deal, people assume that they’ve both been garbage. That’s not the case at all.

The next Jets GM should be doing anything in their power to keep Adams and Garrett Wilson together in 2025. You could make an argument that it’s the only duo of true No. 1 wide receivers in the league. On the other hand, Aaron can start packing his bags. Reach this milestone with a touchdown pass to your buddy, then hit the road.

Prediction 5: Sam Darnold and Jared Goff combine to commit 3+ turnovers on Sunday Night Football.

JJ McCarthy’s future may very well rest on this contest. If Darnold goes 15-2, wins the NFC North, and secures the No. 1 seed, there’s exists no justification for letting him walk in free agency. At the very least, you’re slapping down the franchise tag and making him prove that this magical year wasn’t a fluke.

Meanwhile, Detroit is absolutely desperate for that first-round bye. The entire organization is banged-up, and Ford Field has developed into one of the best home environments in the league. Each starting quarterback will be pressing a bit, and we’ll see some sloppiness as a result. Let’s finish this regular season with some chaos.

  • Week 17 Results: 3-2

  • Overall Season Picks Record: 28-57

  • Current NFL Prize Pot: $570
