A recap of Week 12 in college football.
Welcome to Glass Slipper! There are real people on this Earth that were surprised by Evan McPherson’s meltdown last night; please enjoy the show.

Colorado is humming.
Remember what Deion Sanders said last season, after his Buffs got eviscerated by Oregon?
Deion Sanders, in a message to all of college football: "You better get me right now. This is the worst we’re going to be."

Well, here we are. Colorado sits three wins away from a first-round bye in the playoff. Quiet down, skeptics. It’s pure magic in Boulder right now.
Hold your horses.
Let’s stop with the Will Howard Heisman ceremony push. I’ve watched every snap. He’s been good. Solid. A 7.5/10. In no world does he belong in New York.
Wrigley Field blues.
Man, this football game is awesome. I just wish it was being played in a baseball stadium! That’s a sentiment that has never, ever been expressed. It was dumb that the Raiders had to compete in the Oakland Coliseum for all those years. The Pinstripe Bowl in the Bronx is stupid. I understand how grumpy I sound, but everything about this tradition is so unnecessary.
It’s halftime at Wrigley. Northwestern squeezes into the bullpen, and Ohio State heads down into a cramped batting cage. Nobody saw the first Carnell Tate touchdown at home, because fans blocked the camera shot. The Wildcats’ sideline was comically oversized, there were no nets behind the goalposts, and the lack of space between the end zones and the walls was a legitimate safety hazard for the players.
What are we doing?
In or out?
We know that public votes of confidence are hardly binding in collegiate athletics. Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin gave Billy Napier a pretty weak one recently, and I didn’t exactly buy it.
I can see both sides of the Napier argument. He’s 16-19 at Florida, and the supposed offensive guru is about to turn in his third consecutive year averaging under 30 points per game. That’s unacceptable. But Billy did secure one of the biggest recruits in school history, and it seems as though they maintain a positive relationship. After all, DJ Lagway trudged out there at less than 100% health to help fight for his head coach on Saturday.

Take care of business against Florida State, win a bowl, and let’s see what happens. Seeing the Gators topple a superior team showed me that the players genuinely want Napier to stay. Perhaps the university administrators will ultimately concur with them.
Andy Kotelnicki’s golden goose.
Where on Earth is the hype for Tyler Warren? He’s about to cross 1,000 total yards on the season, the Wildcat runs feel downright unstoppable at times, and he’s even thrown a touchdown. Warren is the best player on the No. 3 team in the nation, and the pundits barely give him a mention. This is a first-team All-American, and a first-round pick.
Growth spurt.
Each time I watch South Carolina, LaNorris Sellers is better than he was before. I’m so impressed; this is a three-star redshirt freshman, and he’s taking noticeable leaps on a weekly basis. 11 total touchdowns, one interception, and a 4-0 record - including two ranked wins - since the Alabama game. Sellers is already the best Gamecocks quarterback of the past decade.
Stop talking about the announcer jinx.
Pretty please. It’s not funny or charming anymore. I’m looking at Chris Fowler in particular, but basically every play-by-play person outside of Gus Johnson is guilty. I’m fairly certain that the 19-year-old kicker on our screen didn’t push one wide right because you just gave them a compliment in the booth. This isn’t about you. I promise.
BYU falls.
We all knew it was coming. Even Vegas did; the previously-undefeated Cougars were 2.5-point favorites at home, against six-loss Kansas.

Three perfect squads remain in college football.
My updated Heisman ladder.
1) Ashton Jeanty, Boise State RB
2) Travis Hunter, Colorado WR/CB
3) Cam Ward, Miami (FL) QB
4) Dillon Gabriel, Oregon QB
5) Tyler Warren, Penn State TE
6) Jalen Milroe, Alabama QB
7) Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss QB
8) Kurtis Rourke, Indiana QB
9) Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Virginia Tech EDGE
10) Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green TE
Time to peek ahead.
Two huge matchups are on the way. First, we have a top-five clash between Indiana and Ohio State on Big Noon Kickoff. Then, 9-0 Army heads to South Bend. A lot of changes are imminent.

They can score the ball, and we can’t.
