A recap of Week 3 in college football.
Welcome to Glass Slipper! It was my fault for assuming that Bengals-Chiefs would be officiated fairly; please enjoy the show.

Here are my 10 biggest takeaways from Week 3 of the college football season.
Friday Night Lights.
If you saw Kansas State thump Arizona, I hope you felt the same way I did. It was awesome. Everything about that game - not just the fact that it happened on a Friday evening - was exactly like high school football, and I loved it. Big plays galore, constant scrambling, ill-advised decisions, questionable tackling. It was the most fun I’ve had watching a college game so far this season.
Also, KSU won me over as a true threat to win the Big 12. The way the guys on that roster fight for each other is really, really special. I legitimately got chills on the couch seeing Chris Klieman celebrate with Dylan Edwards after the punt-return touchdown.
An all-time disaster in Tallahassee.
What is there to say at this point? I had the Seminoles finishing 10-2 and earning a first-round bye in the playoff. How in the world are they this bad?
Florida State-Memphis game just started and FSU fans are already in shambles 😂😭

Take Julian Sayin and the rest of Ohio State’s third-string dudes, and line them up across from FSU on a neutral field this Saturday. I think it’s a competitive game.
Time’s up for Michigan.
The cupcakes are over, and the Wolverines still don’t have a quarterback. A rested USC squad comes to town on Saturday; if there’s one thing for certain, it’s that Davis Warren can’t jog out there with Michigan’s first unit. Three picks against Arkansas State at home? He hasn’t earned it.
You obviously can’t throw Jayden Denegal or Jadyn Davis into the fire against the Trojans. So Sherrone Moore is probably stuck with either Alex Orji or Jack Tuttle as the starter. That’s not ideal.
An exhale for LSU.
Boy oh boy, was I pulling for those Gamecocks. I desperately wanted to see that Brian Kelly postgame press conference. Unfortunately, the officiating crew seemed quite intent on protecting that man’s fists.
Exciting things tend to happen when two squads mutually agree not to tackle all afternoon. It was 60 minutes of offensive fireworks, and Shane Beamer must’ve been totally despondent after denying his fan base an opportunity to party.
Claps for Cam.
I’m just so happy for Cam Ward. This kid was a zero-star recruit, and started his collegiate career at an FCS school. Now he’s bringing a powerhouse back to national prominence, and barging his way into the Heisman race. It’s an unbelievable story.
An Irish avalanche.
Whoa.
66 points in 66 plays so far today for Notre Dame 🍀🔥

That’s the best I’ve seen any college football team look this year. Notre Dame desperately needed this performance, to help get that humiliating Northern Illinois loss out of its system. Marcus Freeman is a good coach again (for now).
Oregon finally splashes.
There it is. That’s the Oregon we’ve all been waiting for. Dillon Gabriel was fantastic, the running game was unstoppable, and the defense was dominant. If the Ducks play like that every week, they’ll head to the Big Ten title game undefeated.
We were so close, Big Blue Nation.
Kentucky fans, you know that I’ve been telling everyone who would listen for a month that our precious Wildcats would stun Georgia. I haven’t shut up about it; a beat reporter for the Dawgs literally crawled into my Twitter DMs on Friday and asked me to provide a more detailed explanation as to why I believed in Big Blue so much.
I purveyed all of the positive vibes that I possibly could. I’m sorry that it wasn’t enough.
Tennessee’s offense.
65 in the first half?

I don’t care who the opponent is. That’s pretty much impossible.
Time to peek ahead.
My new thirst for quality Friday night college ball will be quenched; we have a cool ranked matchup between Illinois and Nebraska coming up in three days. The aforementioned USC-Michigan game should be extremely fun, and my beloved Utah has a tough road test against Oklahoma State.
Then, let’s find out how real that Tennessee offense is. The Vols head to Norman in primetime on Saturday evening. Sounds like an awesome slate to me.
